Two Citgo gas pumps remain on the site of a former Stuckey’s off Interstate 29 near Little Sioux, Iowa. Although a closing date is unknown, the Little Sioux Stuckey’s was open in 1992, the last to operate in the state. Known for its pecan log rolls and iconic blue roof, the Stuckey’s chain peaked with 350 locations in the 1970s.

Lee County Savings Bank Building (Ft. Madison, Iowa)
Built in 1892, the currently-vacant Lee County Savings Bank building in downtown Ft. Madison is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Ft. Madison Downtown Commercial Historic District. The Lee County Savings Bank was established in 1888, the third bank organized in the city.
Downtown (Leon, Iowa)
Decatur Pharmacy is one of several colorfully-painted small businesses on Main Street in Leon. With just under 2,000 residents, Leon is the county seat of Decatur County in Southern Iowa. Just to the north is the South Central Iowa Theatre, a volunteer-run cinema that shows movies weekend evenings as well as occasional live performances.
Post Office 52635 (Lockridge, Iowa)
The Lockridge Post Office moved to the kindergarten classroom of the former elementary school building in April 2005, after arson destroyed the former location.
The classroom was added in 1999, three years before the school was closed due to declining enrollment. Final classes were held for grades K-5 on Thursday, May 30, 2002.
Former School (Mt. Etna, Iowa)
This former one-room schoolhouse is located in the once bustling community of Mt. Etna in Adams County, Iowa. Now practically a ghost town, Mt. Etna was once home to a post office, grocery store, and multiple churches. The pictured schoolhouse is among one of thirteen rural schools in the Corning school district that closed in 1960.
